Pantomime - a Great British Family Tradition!
Embark on a journey through Pantoland with Manama Theatre Club as they present live theatrical performances of 'Help! I'm A Celebrity Pantomime Dame - Get Me Out Of Here!' at The British Club of Bahrain on December 5th, 6th and 7th, 2024.
This unique pantomime by Ian Hornby is set in Pantoland, several years after the ‘good’ characters from a number of well-known tales, including Aladdin, Prince Charming, Cinderella and Princess Jasmine, have triumphed over their respective antagonists.
A number of these well-known characters must fight off the Evil Queen and her dotty sidekick, the Wicked Stepmother. The Evil Queen banishes the ‘good’ characters to the jungle where challenges and trials await them.
Primarily popular in the UK and Ireland, pantomime is a type of musical comedy theatre designed for family entertainment, and usually staged during the winter holiday season. It's been 5 years since Panto enthralled it's fans in Bahrain, with the first MTC panto being staged decades ago.
Expect songs, gags, slapstick comedy and dancing, combining topical humour with stories loosely based on well-known fables, folk or fairy tales.
Participatory in nature the audience too can join in, as the action unfolds on stage. Join in booing the baddies, cheering the goodies, and warning the Dame ‘it’s behind you!' when the monster makes an appearance - plenty of opportunities will arise!
"With a cast and crew of more than 70 people coming together to put on this show, we're excited to see the magic happen." Director, Hannah Turner.
Sit back and enjoy the chaos!
