Depths of Wikipedia – An Evening of Improvised Theater…

Did you know that America’s first woman Olympic champion had no idea she had signed up for the Olympics? Or that a man once spent 3 months in space with no mission, unable to get back because the country that sent him (USSR) no longer existed? Or that a French woman learnt to fly and hijacked a helicopter to rescue her husband from prison? Or that a female praying mantis decapitates her newlywed husband on their marriage night? Or that the biggest war on earth was not actually World War II, but an ongoing devastating global-wide war, for decades, between two ant super-colonies?

The world is a really, really strange place. So strange, that reality ultimately beats any script written for the stage. In this play, we will be inspired by real-life stories and events; we will dig through Wikipedia and other sources, on the spot, for realities that are just too weird to be true, but are absolutely true, and improvise characters that actually existed (or exist today) and scenes from stories that actually happened (or are happening today).

You – the audience – can also inspire us to pull stories from strange Wikipedia or open-source articles, and we will imagine and enact the characters and stories for you – on the spot!
